Vietnam veteran, enjoyed fishing and gardeningSaugusMr. Michael F. "Mike" DeLeo, 60 years of Saugus, died Friday Oct. 24th at the V.A. Hospital, West Roxbury, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Deborah "Debbie" (Collette) DeLeo with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary (Sullivan) DeLeo. He was raised in Saugus and attended Saugus Public Schools. He was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1966. He received an associates degree from North Shore Community College.He was employed by the United States Post Office for over 20 years as a letter carrier and more recently as a clerk.Michael was an Army Veteran of Vietnam.He enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman.Besides his wife he leaves one son, Michael Patrick DeLeo, of Saugus. He was the brother of Joseph DeLeo of Haverhill, William "Bill" DeLeo of Brooksville, FL, Mary Manning of Ipswich, Patricia Scales of Lynn, and Anna Scales of Revere. He is survived by two Godsons Brian DeLeo and Jason Gallo and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank DeLeo.Service Information: A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 28th, in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home (Rt. 129), Lynn, at 11 AM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8PM. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com
