Mitchell M. Ramonas

LYNN -- Mitchell M. Ramonas, 96, of Lynn, beloved husband of the late Stacia P. (Drewniak) Ramonas, died at home Nov. 24.  Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John and Alexandra (Babinska) Ramonas. Raised and educated in Lynn, he attended Lynn schools. Mitchell served his country with the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and was a prisoner of War in Germany for 14 months. He was employed by Floor Town of Cambridge and worked as a tile floor installer. Mitchell was past commander of PLAV Post 56 and also held various offices over the years, a former member of Polish Young Men's Club Golf League, Cocktail League Associates, Franco Amvets, VFW and the Happy Valley/Gannon Golf Club. In his retirement years he enjoyed gambling at the local casinos. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed. Mitchell is survived by his children, Richard Ramonas of Lynn, Michele T. Wilkins of Florida, Pauline S. Moore and her husband Gary of Florida, Joanne A. Ekstrom and her companion Ray of Lynn, Marilyn A. Burgess of Lynn and Danielle D. McElroy and her husband Bryan of New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah L. Ramonas, his siblings Wallace J. Ramonas, Helene Ramonas and Ann Maloney. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the NADWORNY Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave., Lynn, on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by his Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary's Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn.
