Peter Arvanites Obituary
1953 - 2025
Peabody - Peter J. Arvanites, 72, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Lahey Medical Center in Peabody. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia "Cindi" (Clark) Arvanites with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. They moved to Peabody in 1981 where they raised two daughters.
He was born at Lynn Hospital on June 8, 1953 and spent his childhood in Lynn. He was the cherished son of the late James and Catherine (Pappas) Arvanites.
Peter graduated from Lynn English High School in 1970 and graduated from U Mass in 1974. He received his Juris Doctor from New England School of Law in 1978. Peter was a partner at the Arvanites Law Group where he practiced law for over 45 years. He was also a volunteer member of the Peabody Planning Board for several years.
As a lawyer Peter was a man of integrity and honesty, treating clients with the dignity they deserved. He had a generous heart. Many friends and family members depended on his knowledge. He never said "no" to those in need.
As a young man Peter was a musician at heart. He loved the music of the 60s and his favorite band was the Beatles.
Peter loved to spend time with his entire large Greek family celebrating all major holidays. He also enjoyed skiing and mountain bike riding with friends. He also loved spending time with his two beautiful granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, Cindi, Peter is survived by his two daughters, Kate and Alexandra Arvanites of Peabody; his two grandchildren, Alivia and Avery Eaton of Peabody; his two sisters, Diane Arvanites, her husband Thomas Neblett of Framingham, Elaine Parsons, her husband Stephen Parsons of Peabody; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service Information: Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 4PM to 7PM and again at 10AM Thursday morning before leaving in procession to St. George Greek Orthodox Church for a Funeral Service at 11AM. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to the American Heart Association by visiting www.heart.org or to a charity of one's choice. To Peter´s Family, I went to school with Peter since first grade. Right beside him until graduation in 1970. I am so sad and humbled that this has happened. Just a wonderful man, dad, friend, husband and grandfather. I´d love to add our class pic from 1st grade but I just can´t. I will really miss knowing he is not with us. My deepest condolences,

Dearest Cindi and family, Rick and I are heartbroken to read of Peters` passing. I always remember when the boys played softball back in the seventies while we sat on the grass and watched and talked. Peter and his family were one class act, and also a terrific lawyer. Our prayers are with you all as well as the strength for this awful loss of one great gentleman, friend, husband and father. Our love goes out to all of you.

My sincere condolences to Cindi, Alex, Kate and grandchildren. Peter was a great friend to my entire family. A wonderful man who was kind and thoughtful and a true gentleman. A tremendous loss to everyone he knew and cared for. May he be remembered for all his kindness. We will all miss him.
