Lynn - Peter Fotopoulos, 78, of Lynn peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by family on Thursday, February 20, 2025. He was the husband of 53 years to his beloved wife Zoe (Vagenas) Fotopoulos. Born in Halazoni, Messinias Greece, he was the son of the late Efstathios and Nikolitsa (Kotsakis) Fotopoulos. Peter was raised in Greece, and after serving in the Greek Military, he immigrated to the United States in his early twenties in pursuit of a better life for him and his wife, settling in
Lynn, Massachusetts.
Peter was a hard-working father who was dedicated to his work and providing for his family. Aspiring to have his own business, in 1989, he became the proud owner of Peter's Super Beef in Revere. His commitment to his customers was unparalleled, dedicated to serving the Revere community and surrounding towns for over 30 years. Peter was also very committed to his Greek roots, his faith and to his many life-long friends. Above all, his greatest commitment and joy was spending time with his family.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife Zoe of Lynn. He was the loving father of daughter Nikki Spyropoulos and her husband Billy of Danvers, and son Steven Fotopoulos and his wife Tina of Needham. He was the proud grandfather "Papou" to his grandchildren, Peter, Dimitri, Zoe, Lexi, Demi and Chloe.
Brother to Lisa Malig and her late husband Sam of Lynn, Effie Stathoulis of Lynn, Alex Fotopoulos of Halazoni, Messinias Greece. Brother-in-law to Maria Fotopoulos, Niki Vagenas Johnson and her husband Brian Johnson, George Antonopoulos and his late wife Antonia. Peter also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brother George Fotopoulos.
Service Information: Funeral service for Peter will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 S Common St. Lynn, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visitation will be held prior to the service at St. George Church from 9:30-11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
In addition, the family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the medical staff at Care Dimensions for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Peter and for their unwavering support to the entire family.
