Philip M. Sampson

BEVERLY - Philip M. Sampson, 72, beloved husband of JoAnn (Charette) Sampson. Born in Lynn, he is the son of the late Leonard and Mary (Hamilton) Sampson.Phil grew up in Lynn and was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School. He attended Chamberlain College and Calvin Coolidge College in Boston. He is a veteran, having served in the United States Army Reserve. For many years, he owned and operated Processed Products Corporation. Phil was an avid golfer. He enjoyed skiing, fishing and traveling all over the world with JoAnn. He volunteered his time at Lifebridge in Salem and dedicated himself to helping people in need. Phil was an active member at the La Salette faith community in Topsfield. He was a loving husband, dad and grampy and a friend to so many people. He was happiest when he was talking to others while sharing a cup of coffee.In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by three children: Peter Sampson and his wife Maria of Londonderry, N.H., Mary Hill and her husband Donald Joseph of Voluntown, Conn., and Ellen Moore and her husband Robert of Topsfield; two brothers: Richard Sampson of Windham, N.H. and Michael Sampson of Medfield, Mass.; eight grandchildren: Jacquelyn Christie, Anna-Maria Sampson, Alex and Raymond Hill, and Samuel, Abigail, Ava and Griffin Moore; and one great granddaughter, Gracie Carty. Phil is predeceased by his stepmother Mildred (Gallagher), brother Paul Sampson and sister Clare Curran.Service information: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Margaret Parish, 672 Hale St., Beverly, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
