Mr. Rafael D. Gutierrez, Sr., 81 years of Lynn died on Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a long battle with cancer.  He is the husband of Teresa (Rincon) Gutierrez. He was born in Sanchez, the Dominican Republic, the son of the late Rafael E. Pichardo and Alejandrina Gutierrez. He was raised in the Dominican Republic, and attended schools there. He came to the United States in 1965 and has lived here since. He was employed as a machinist at the General Electric Company in Lynn. He was a member of the Dominican Republic Naval Forces. He was a loving and dedicated family man. He loved Baseball, nature and walks on the beach. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife with whom he shared 52 years of marriage he leaves his children, Rafael D. Gutierrez, Jr. of Lynn, Alexandra Gutierrez of Lynn, and Gabriel Gutierrez of Needham, his grandchildren, Francisco A. Marte, Daniel A. Marte, Madeline C. Marte and Gianni R. Gutierrez. He also leaves many brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews in the United States and the Dominican Republic. Service information: His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 9:00 AM from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rte. 129) Lynn followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph's Church, Lynn at 10:00 AM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com .
