Peabody - Robert Devlin, 87, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on November 25th surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He was born April 30, 1938, to the late Sarah and William Devlin. Born and raised in
Lynn, MA, "Bob" graduated from Classical High School and went on to become an electrician with IBEW Local 103 where he spent his entire career, including two years working on the Alaska Pipeline. He retired in 1997.
In 1961, he married Betty Peach, eventually settling in Peabody where they raised their five daughters. Bob was a lifelong avid outdoorsman, who really enjoyed hunting and fishing and later in life developed a love of golf. The pinnacle of Bob's hunting passion was a hunting safari in Africa. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and especially loved spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus in Lynn. Bob was a hard worker, with a very strong will to provide for his family.
Bob is survived by his five loving daughters; Patty Stanley and her husband John of Salisbury, Pamela Deveau and her husband Glen of Sandown, NH, Paula Starr and her husband Ron of Amesbury, Penny Devlin of North Andover, and Bobbi Lee and her husband Terence of Peabody. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as "Homie". Kristin, Matthew, Brittany, Jared, Justin, Nicholas, and Terence, as well as his great grandsons Brendan, Sean, Everett, Oliver, James, and his first great granddaughter due in March. In addition, he leaves behind his brother-in-law, Terry Marks of Lynn, several nieces and nephews, and his best friend and canine companion Mario.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister Patricia Pasquale, and his brother William Devlin.
Service Information: Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.
