Saugus - Mr. Robert W. Jepson, age 90, died at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford on Friday, December 31st. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Claflin) Jepson.

Born and raised in Melrose and a resident of Saugus for over 60 years, Mr. Jepson was the son of the late Warren and Louise (Eldridge) Jepson. Robert was very Patriotic having served his country in the U.S. Army 7th Infantry during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and baking. He was known for sharing his perfectly ripe tomatoes every summer with neighbors and family, and always sending his grandkids home with delicious brownies, apple crisp, or fresh popcorn.

Robert is survived by his five children, Charles Jepson and his wife Rae of NH, Ronald Jepson and his wife Lori, Steven Jepson and his wife Cindy, Louise Luongo and her husband Christopher all of Saugus, and Mark Jepson and his wife Marcia of Everett; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. As one of five siblings and a triplet, Robert is survived by sister Elinor Leffingwell of CT and triplet sibling Marilyn Lewis of Reading. He was predeceased by his triplet sibling, Shirley Bonnell, as well as his brother, Kenneth Jepson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to the V.A. Bedford Activities fund at VA Bedford Healthcare System, Voluntary Services (135), 200 Springs Road, Bedford, Massachusetts 01730.
