LYNN ? Rodrick Ryan Wilson was a former employee of the Lynn Public School Department and his mother?s caretaker. Rodrick, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the age of 36. Rodrick was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and attended Hesser College in Manchester, N.H. While in college, he did his internship at Disney World in Florida . Affectionately known as Rod, he was a young, vibrant man full of life, always the life of the party and had a smile that would light up a room. Rod was loved by so many people all over the world. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it. Besides being a mama?s boy, Rod loved to play darts and traveled every chance he got. As an artist, he was affiliated with the Lydia Pinkham Building in Lynn . Rod?s creativity extended into interior decorating. He could look at an empty room and know exactly what to put in it to make it absolutely fabulous! Rod?s vision was not like other people?s because his sense of style would make you think to yourself; how did he pull that off? He could put an outfit together like nobody?s business. Rod was one of a kind and could relate to anyone. His strong presence and affectious laughter drew numerous people which gave him the opportunity to touch many lives. Rod was a good soul. He will be forever missed by his mother, enormous family and friends who loved him dearly. Rodrick is preceded in death by his stepdad, Alfred Sylvia Jr. and brother Wayne. His grandmother Martha Jane Burris, aunts Fannie Lewis, Alberta Thompson and uncles Thomas Burris, Nesbitt Black and Bobby Sutson. Rodrick is survived by his beloved mother, Martha Wilson of Lynn; his biological father, Stanyard Ellis of Gaffney, S.C.; 22 siblings, Terry Burris of Cambridge, Sheila Valrie (Roderick Sr.), James Wilson, Perry Wilson, Oscar Wilson, all of Lynn, Rulfus Wilson (Julie) of West Peabody, Robin Cotter (Lucas) of Lynn, Theresa, Elnita, Gina, Esteban, Terrail, Stanyard Jr., Joshua, Denesha and Tenika, all of South Carolina, Bishop Wendy Toone, Tara, Duanne, Maureen, Chato and Cheyenne, all of New Bedford; five aunts, Jennie Sutson, Bertha Burris, both of Lynn, Sandra Moore of Salem, Sally Black and Beverly Vercher (Anthony), both of South Carolina, four uncles, James Burris (Evelyn) of Newton, Eric Burris, David Burris (Angela) and Weldon Lewis, all of Lynn, a loving God mother, Mattie Valerie, three God children, Lyric Cotter, Isabel Sutson and Jayliana Allen; two God sisters, Raco Sequeira and Edwina Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Service information: Visiting hours will be held at the Zion Baptist Church , 4 Adams St., Lynn, on Friday, July 15 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
