Lynn - Shirley A. Cole, 94, of Lynn, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the Lynn Home for Elderly Persons, surrounded by loved ones. Born Shirley A. Dunn, she was the cherished daughter of Everett R. Dunn and Sarah M. (Osgood) Dunn.
Shirley will be remembered for her cheerful spirit and upbeat personality, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her with her lighthearted and silly humor. She had a passion for flea markets and antiquing, delighting in the beauty and history of treasured finds.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard T. Cole, Sr.; her brother, Russell Dunn; and her sister, Geraldine Lorette. Shirley leaves behind her four children: Richard T. Cole, Jr. and his companion Marie Whitney of Haverhill, MA; Linda J. Jolly and her husband Robert V. Jolly, Jr. of Center Ossipee, NH; Sheila Ramirez and her husband Tony Ramirez of Lynn, MA; and Pamela Cole and her companion Sean Lahey of Hudson, NH. She was the proud grandmother of five, great-grandmother of eight, and great-great-grandmother of nine, and also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who brought immense joy to her life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Lynn Home for Elderly Persons, where Shirley resided for many years, for their professional, personal and fun loving care; to CareDimensions of Danvers, MA for their compassionate palliative and hospice support; and to Goodrich Funeral Home in Lynn, MA for the arrangements.
A graveside service will be held Friday November 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake Street, Peabody, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at donorservices.alz.org.
Shirley's warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
