Substitute teacher in Lynn for 20 yearsLYNN - Stephen E. Hill, 59 years, of Lynn, died on Saturday, August 9, 2008 in Union Hospital after a long illness.He is the husband of Susan (Manson) Hill. He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Sherman G and Virginia (Doane) Hill.He was raised in Lynn, and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1966. In 1970, he graduated Salem State College with a degree in history. He also graduated from the University of Lowell with a degree in meteorology.Steve has been a resident of Lynn all of his life.Steve was a kid at heart who loved to watch his sons' sporting events. He coached basketball at the Shoemaker School, as well as the Peabody-Lynnfield YMCA and baseball for Wyoma Little League.He was a Lynn English Football Booster. He enjoyed taking photographs. He enjoyed hiking and exploring the National Parks with his wife Sue. He was a history buff, who enjoyed historical literature.He was a devoted father and husband who loved and lived for his family.Steve was a substitute teacher in the Lynn schools for 20 years, teaching elementary and secondary classes. He was well loved by students and faculty.In addition to his wife with whom he shared 33 years of marriage he leaves two sons Stephen A. Hill and Samuel B. Hill both of Lynn. He also leaves several cousins and his extended family, including his wife's eight brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.Service Information: His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th, at 10:00 AM in the Amphitheater in Lynn Woods, Penny brook Road entrance in Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, August 12th in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn. Donations may be made to the Lynn English Football Program, c/o Coach Peter Holey, 50 Goodrich Street, Lynn, MA 01902. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com.
