Berta S. Silva

TULARE - Berta Soares Silva, 80 of Tulare, CA died May 28, 2004. A homemaker, she was born in Angra Do Heroismo Terceira Azores. Mrs. Silva was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic church. She loved animals, especially her poodle and cat. She loved to crochet. Mrs. Silva was a very elegant, car ing and giving person who loved people and especially children. She was a very special person, well-loved by all. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Rosary & Altar Society, Our Lady of Miracles Society, and belonged to our Lady of Fatima in Chino and also a lay person at St. Margaret Mary Church in Chino. She is survived by her husband, Joe N. Silva Jr. of Tulare, CA; two sisters, Beatriz Freitas of Chino, CA and Maria Manuela Pomplona, of Terceira Azores; brother, Jorge Soares, of Temecula, CA; four st ep-daughters, Virginia Hager of Hacienda heights, CA, Gloria Martin of Bakersfield, CA, Katie Coffield of Spencer, NC, and Betty-Jo Sackrison of Lower Lake, CA; one step-son, Bill silva of Cottonwood, CA; nine step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, Tulare, CA. St. Aloysius Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel. There will a Rosary and Mass at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2004 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 E. Pleasant, Tulare, CA. Interment will be at Tulare District Cemetery in Tulare. Remembrances may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 417 Montgomery St., Suite 404, San Francisco, CA 94104.
