David Harwich Obituary

David Curtis Harwich, 53, resident of Rancho Cucamonga, passed away suddenly on February 17, 2008. David was born on September 1, 1955, in Los Angeles, California to Mathew V. and Mary M. Harwich. Entering the world at 9 pounds, 8 ounces, he was certainly ready to join his family and make a difference in everybody's lives. David was unique; if you met him, you would most likely never forget him. He was upbeat and friendly, always smiling and positive in thought. He had been featured many times in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin's local news sections for various feats such as hiking, biking, and for the world premiere of "the Making of 17th" a movie which he directed, produced and edited, which took three years to complete. David Harwich graduated Upland High School in June of 1971 and also proudly graduated recently from Chaffey College! He was well known in the area as a photographer and landscaper. David was an adventurous person who pursued many side hobbies and career pursuits including cinematography. He experienced many things in life that most of us would never attempt, including parachuting and taking long, extended journeys on his bike throughout California. He is best known for his photography company "The Photographer," from Harwich Entertainment. "The Photographer" was David's independent business which offered personalized photographic imaging & design, as well as broadcast video-cinematography. David was also an active board member of the Inland Valley Photography Association. David Harwich is survived by his two brothers, Greg and Mark Harwich; his sisters-in-law, Lorna and Margie Harwich; Greg's children, Philip, Keely, Matt, Kelsey and Mark's children, Ashley and Michael. David will be greatly missed by all.

David was a great friend and neighbor. Whether we were taking a stroll around the block or up a mountain, David always had the same adventurous spirit, spry sense of humor, and hearty laugh. As we reflect on what it was like to grow up on Vallejo Way, our thoughts immediately turn to David and the Harwich family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
