DEBI CRACROFT Obituary

Debi Bywater Cracroft 1955 ~ 2010 Debi was born March 23, 1955, at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, to Lois and Dick Bywater. She died September 15, 2010 in Sandy, Utah. Debi became diabetic at three years old and struggled with this difficult disease throughout her life. Debi grew up in Salt Lake City attending Uintah Elementary, Clayton Jr. High and East High School. She had a lengthy marriage to Mike Cracroft. They were later divorced. Debi was employed as a surgical technician, at many area hospitals, for over 20 years. Debi loved her dogs Sam, Duke, Max and Koda. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Kris and Don Bell and nieces, Abbie Bell Carter-Smith (Scott and daughter Mia) and Rebecca (Becky) Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents. Debi's wishes were to be cremated with no formal funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to No More Homeless Pets. The family wishes to thank Debi's neighbors for their thoughtfulness and help and the staff at Alta View Hospital for their kind and compassionate care in her final days. Arrangements were handled by Holbrook Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com

I had met Debi through the group of neighbors on Lafayette around 1994. We had been to many barbeques, halloween parties and holiday events. I was stunned to hear that she had passed away. I send my condolences to her sister, Kris & family. I know Mike is grieving as well, may time heal all their wounds. Debi has found her peace.

I used to love walking or riding my bike up to Mike and Debi's house when I was little. (We lived 2 houses down.) They were always out sunning and rarely did I ever see Debi without her bikini! To me, as a small girl, Mike, Debbie and Duke were the perfect little family. I hope Debi has now found her everlasting sunny place; bikini and all!

I am saddened that I did not spend more time with Debi these past few months, but was glad that I was able to see her shortly before her passing. We were there for each other through many things in the few years we were friends. I will miss her but am glad to know she is now healthy and at peace. Love you Deb!

Kris,
It's been forever. Sorry to hear of Debi's passing. She was fun and adventurous at Uintah and then again at East.
She was my first girlfriend. I really enjoyed knowing Deb and sharing her friendship.

Kris,
So sorry to hear about your sister. I have fond memories of her independence and intensity and how she didn't let diabetes become an obstacle.

I hope you're ok.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Debi at Jordan Valley Hospital back in the 80's. Deb was a tough cookie, but she knew her job and she did it well. I was the new 'OR tech' and she helped me do my job well, often staying over to help with a difficult case. I liked Deb, I liked her a lot. Again I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry that I didn't know that Debi was ill. We were great friends during her time at the University Hospital. I would have liked to have spent time with her.

Dealing with my own family's problems these last few months, I neglected to make time for Debi. I feel so bad about that. She did know what I was going through, so I hope she will forgive me.
I will miss her, I loved her in my own special way. She always told me that I was the only one that understood her and I let her down at the end. I'm sorry Deb - I still love you. May you be in peace now.
