Ernest Roman Sr.

UPLAND - Ernest "Ernie" Roman Sr., 51, of Upland died June 7, 2003, in Rancho Cucamonga. He was born June 10, 1951, in Upland and lived there his entire life. He was a carpenter. He enjoyed jogging and boxing. Mr. Roman is survived by his companion, Sally Hernandez of Upland; stepdaughter, Olivia Hernandez; son, Ernie Roman Jr.; his mother, Esperanza "Chita" Roman of Upland; six sisters, Lenora Gonzalez of Ontario, Raquel Guzman of Upland, Adela Mendoza of Fontana Rita Vargas of Upland, Alicia Gomez of Cathedral City and Rebecca Yunen of Upland; five brothers, Camilo "Joe" Gutierrez, Edward Roman, Antonio "Butch" Roman Jr., and Robert Roman, all of Upland and Albert Roman of Fontana; four grandchildren, Alyssa Orona Roman of Alta Loma, Amanda Roman of Loma Linda, Alicia A. Roman and Ernie Roman III, both of Las Vegas; 81 nephews and nieces; and his maternal aunt, Juanita Marquez of Upland. He is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Roman, 1967, his cousin, Paul Hernandez and grandfather, Miguel Cortez, 1970. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Stone Funeral Home, Upland. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. "G" St., Ontario. Pastor Frank Castrejon officiating. Stone Funeral Home, Upland, is handling arrangements.
