Gene Skiles Obituary
Gene passed away in Chino, on September 27, 2015. He was born July 6, 1931, in Atlantis, Neb., and as a young boy moved to Central Avenue and Mission Blvd, in an area called Narod, a railroad stop that is in Montclair today. He hitch hiked to Chino High School, where everyone called him the "kid from Narod" because they didn't know his name. The nickname stuck.
He lived in Chino since 1939 and graduated from Chino High School in 1948 and served four years in the Air Force, where he was a staff sergeant in food service. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; children, Lynne Hansen & husband Gary, Leslie McCloud & husband Larry; grandchildren, Courtney McCloud, Brooke McCloud, Brett Hansen & wife Liz.
A celebration of life is planned Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. For location, contact Lynne Hansen, (909) 626- 1212.

My husband, Gale, and I met Narod and Betty many years ago. We traveled across the country with them several times in our street rods and attended most of his car shows. When Narod sponsored an indoor car show at Pomona Fairgrounds we were the proud recipients of one of the top awards for our 34 Phaeton. Gale passed away in July, 2014. I am sure he and Narod are now sharing memories of their street rod years. Donna Messick

To the family, My condolences to you all. Gene will be missed by all those who knew him. Gene touched many lives in his walk on this earth, i know because he touched mine!I worked for Gene at Narod's Saloon (I was a bouncer) and he was one of the best employer's i have ever had the opportunity to work for. I know God is taking good care of him now. Thanks for the memories Gene, you will always be in my thoughts.To the family, you are in my prayers and God bless you all.
