GLADYCE DeFOUW Obituary

Beloved wife for over 64 years, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died on Monday, April 18, 2011. She was born on July 10, 1924 in Olive Township of Ottawa County, Michigan, married Robert DeFouw in 1946. Her husband Robert DeFouw predeceased her in December 2010. She is survived by a son Robert DeFouw (Linda) of Chico, two daughters Judith Apodaca (Daca) of Phelan and Carol Wilson (Keith) of Rancho Cucamonga. She was the proud grandmother to Jim Roberts, Greg and Michael DeFouw, Christina Bergquist, Justin and Landon Borbon, Erica Rycroft, Carole Newbill, Donna Sahler, and Dianna Wagner and great-grandmother to Olin, Anders , Cresta, Jeremiah, Amanda, Audrey, Loni, Kameron, Darian and Evrett. She is also survived by a sister Bonnie Conrad, two brothers Tom Bos of Michigan, Dave Bos of San Diego, and Goddaughter Nancy Hough-Taylor. She was a homemaker who loved to sew, bake and feed a crowd. Most of her life she spent caring for her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Crosspoint Church in Chino. Gladie was a warm loving mother, loved by family and friends. She was a passionate woman, a character in every sense of the word dedicated to helping others - a woman adored by her husband. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Draper Mortuary in Ontario. Funeral services will be held following at 11:00 a.m. also at Draper Mortuary. Burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
