Jim Pirlo Obituary

Jim Pirlo
(June 21, 1946—November 20, 2017)
Jim Pirlo died peacefully at home on the morning of November 20, 2017.
He was born in Buffalo, New York to parents Reno and Laura Pirlo. The family moved to California when Jim was 10, eventually settling in Pomona. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1965. After graduation, he attended beauty college and was a hairdresser for more than 40 years in the Claremont area.
He is survived by his husband of 30 years, Pete Serrano; his mother, Laura Pirlo; his brother, Louis Pirlo; his sisters Sherry Thacker (Harold), Nancy Birdsong (Sam), Denise Jordan (Dale); his sister-in-law Liz Smithmeyer; longtime family friend Bob Sparks; and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Reno Pirlo, and his brother Ron Smithmeyer.
A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 16 at the Claremont United Methodist Church, 211 W. Foothill Blvd.
