Marjorie DeLyser Obituary

Marjorie DeLyser passed away 25 May, 2005, at Country Care Village in Othello, Washington. Marjorie had lived with/near her daughter, Jane, for the last 6 years. Marjorie was born March 4th, 1918, in Ontario, California. Her parents were Clyde and Frances (Lewis) Meacham. She married Paul R. Balding in 1935 and resided in Ontario, California. Marjorie is survived by their three sons, Martin, David and Tom Balding and one daughter, Jane Grant. Numerous grand children and great grandchildren were a source of pride and joy. She is also survived by brothers James "Bud" Harpel and Wilfred "Bill" Meacham and sister, Dorothy Sloan. Following the death of husband, Paul, in 1969, she was married to Roy DeLyser (deceased) and lived for many years in Cambria, California. Marjorie was devoted to her family and friends and had a ready smile and laugh that accompanied her gift for hospitality. She worked for the California State Department of Employment in Ontario for many years as a claims supervisor. Travel, scrabble, camping, gardening and flowers were a few of her many pursuits. Her lifelong enthusiasm for learning and reading did not stop with her graduation from Chaffey High School in 1935. In later life she received an AA degree from Cuesta College, San Luis Obispo, California. Marjorie was a faithful member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ontario and, later, the Presbyterian Church in Cambria, Ca lifornia. She never doubted that God had blessed her with a world filled with beauty in the sea and flowers and a loving sister and brothers and the rest of her family and friends. A memorial service for Marjorie will be held in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ontario, California, on Friday, June 17th, 10:00 AM. Marjorie will be interred with Paul Balding in Bellevue Cemetery, Ontario, California.
