Summers at the Beale's house are some of my most fond memories! The first time I saw Altadena, CA I thought I was in heaven. Palm trees, pools, and the best weather on the planet! While there, we died my hair for the first time, (been doing it ever since!) Aunt Lolly made me a very cool crocheted bikini and shoulder bag, the cats had a climbing tree in my bedroom, and the most exciting thing is that we watched the first moon walk ever!! I will never forget the excitement of Neil Armstrong, and the infectious scientific fever of Uncle Bob! What magic that was! Thank you Uncle Bob for making the science of space real, exciting, and relative. Warm thoughts and love follow you on your own path into inner space. I send my warmest condolences to all the Beale family, and please know that your loss is widely felt. I send this with love and admiration,

As a young person, Uncle Bob was an inspiration to me to study and be curious about science and the world around me. I wound up studying the science of natural resources, but stayed interested in all sciences. My family really enjoyed our visit several years ago to the house in the avacado grove, and I know he is in a better place. Our love and prayers go to all the family.
