Robert Dominick Obituary
April 6, 1933 - May 1, 2021 Robert James Dominick ("Bob"), a former long-time resident of Rialto, CA, died peacefully in Long Beach, California, at the age of 88. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and attended Boston Technical High School and Northeastern University, where he received degrees in both mechanical engineering and business administration. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. Soon thereafter, he married the love of his life, Mary E. Gallagher. Bob worked for General Alloys Corporation in Boston until 1970, when the company transferred him to California. There, he served as President and General Manager of Hanford Foundry in San Bernardino. Established in 1892, Hanford produced castings in carbon and alloy steel for applications in marine, oil field, nuclear power plant, aircraft, cement manufacturing, ice making and food processing machinery and equipment. Before moving to Seal Beach, CA in 2003, Bob was a parishioner at St. Thomas More Church in Rialto and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Del Rosa Council, and the Shamrock Club of San Bernardino. He was also active in the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce. Bob was a member and director of both Seal Beach Yacht Club and Navy Yacht Club in Long Beach, CA. Bob loved boating and was an avid water skier, snow skier, golfer and artist. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, watching sports (especially football), dancing, reading and doing puzzles. He was an amazing cook. He will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Dominick, their four children, Michael Dominick (Trisha) of Huntington Beach, Richard Dominick (Liz) of Redlands, Thomas Dominick (Deborah) of Redlands, and Cynthia Blake (Robert) of Anaheim, grandchildren, Eric Dominick, Ryan Dominick, Jared Dominick, Heather Thompson, Brittany Dominick, Tyler Dominick, Bradley Dominick, Hannah Dominick, Owen Dominick, Nicole Hofer, April Selecky and Renelle Leach, and great-grandchildren Kira Dominick, Lincoln Dominick and Maverick Dominick. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Dominick, and his brothers, John Dominick and William Dominick. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on October 9 at Seal Beach Yacht Club (255 N. Marina Dr, Long Beach).
