Robert L. Hoffman

POMONA - Robert L. Hoffman, 76, died May 17, 2002, at Gladstone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Covina, with assistance from Hospice Cheer. He was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Tarentum, Pa. He went by many names, including Robert, Bob, Bobby, Buttsy and Hoffy. But most special of all were Bompie, Grandpa, Dad and Daddy. He was a Navy Ve teran. He moved to California in 1948. He worked at many jobs before he settled on working in outdoor decorating. He eventually owned Hoffman Decorating in 1963. After retiring, he remained busy as a consultant with other outdoor decorating companies. He lived in the Pomona area for 20 years before moving to Covina where he had lived for the last 15 years. Mr. Hoffman is survived by two daughters, Marsha Felix of Upland and Sheila Camarella of Sandy, Utah; two sisters, Betty Smith of Kinsman, Ohio an d Gretchen Zier of Vero Beach, Fl.; five grandchildren; and ``special'' friend, Renette Macuga of Covina. Services will be private. Cucamonga Mortuary, Rancho Cucamonga, is in charge of arrangements.
