Loving husband, father, brother and friend passed away July 22, 2012. He was born on September 24, 1948 in Pomona, CA to Sperry W. and Annie Pearl Maxwell. Sperry graduated from Chaffey Union High School and served in the US Air Force as a foreign language interpreter. He later owned his own roofing company and ultimately held the position of inspector overseeing the construction of a variety of housing projects. Sperry loved the sea and was an avid fisherman with a wry sense of humor who was loved by all and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, their spunky dog Cisco, 3 children Troy, Cyndi and Kathleen, 4 brothers James, Dannie, Timothy and Casey, 3 sisters Maxine, Pat and Ila, 3 grandchildren Ashlie, Emily and CJ and a great granddaughter, Holland. A Memorial Service will be held at Drapers Mortuary, Ontario, CA on Friday, July 27, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Assn.

Sperry and I were in the same class in DLI and were stationed together in both Japan and Pakistan. He and I were inseparable for 3 years. So sad to hear of his passing.

Relocating to Ontario in 1957, Sperry was my first and best friend. Quiet, respected and loved, he was smart as a whip and always humble while achieving the highest standards. Our paths crossed too few times since Chaffey High but he has often been in my thoughts. Such and earthly angel! Surely, God has an honored place for him. Sincerest condolences, Mark Moseley.
