Willard Preston Obituary

January 12, 2008 Born Aug. 20, 1923 in Minnesota to Charles E. and Mary Katherine Gavin Preston. In 1925, the family moved to Chino, CA, where Willard graduated in 1931 and went to work for the Progress Bulletin. He advanced in that business for 25 years, becoming a partner in the PB Press. Willard married Elizabeth Palmer December 7, 1940. They had four children, Noralou, Sara, Charles and William. In 1955, they moved to Riddle, OR, near his brother Lee. In 1968, they moved to Roseburg, OR. Willard was an active member of the Melrose Grange. Willard and Elizabeth moved to Astoria, OR in May of 2007, to be near their daughter. They celebrated 67 years of marriage on Dec. 7, 2007. A memorial gathering will be at a later date. Willard is survived by his wife of 6 7 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Dr. Nora lou (Dr. Les Roos) of Winnipeg, Canada; daughter, Sara (Chuck Meyer) of Astoria, OR; son, Charles (Ingrid) of Roseburg; son, William of Fife, WA; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lucille, Ruth, Lee, Kay, Robert, Pierce, Pat and survived by sister Dorothy of Everett, WA.
