Adriana passed away unexpectedly at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego with her family at her side, on Sunday, September 5, 2021, (not COVID-19 related).

Adriana was unique with a memorable and pleasant smile. She was a hard worker who enjoyed her work. Adriana was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She also enjoyed going to the movies accompanied by her family. Adriana was a Calexico graduate in 1988, then she honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1992 where she rose to the rank of sergeant. In 1996, she was employed as a Correctional Officer for the Department of Corrections at Calipatria State Prison. Adriana then retired to focus on becoming a mother. In 2007, Adriana joined D.H.S., as an E.R.A. assistant where she worked until her passing.

Adriana was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Antonio Zaragoza; brothers, Angel and Jaime Zaragoza. She is survived by her husband, Jaime and daughter Natalie Rose Ramos; sisters, Alicia Miramontes, Ana Maria Zaragoza, Rosa Maria Peralta, Susana Moreno, Juanita Mendez, Maribel Ellement and Christina Dillavou; brothers, Antonio, Fernando and Eduardo Zaragoza and numerous nieces and nephews.

Adriana enjoyed life to the fullest and she will be remembered for her kindness, noble and loving personality.

Memorial service will be held at the Calexico United Methodist Church, located at 1070 Blair Avenue, on Saturday, September 18 at 10 a.m. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Masks and social distancing will also be required.
