ALFRED GUTIERREZ Obituary
Alfred Gutierrez, 87, of Brawley passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. He was born on September 10, 1932 in Brawley. Alfred joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and after returning home he became a truck driver. Alfred later married Maria Jessie Grijalva on December 19, 1975. Alfred is survived by his wife, Jessie Gutierrez; children, Elizabeth Avila, Alfred Gutierrez Jr. (Christine) and Olivia Gutierrez; stepchildren, sisters, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to Brawley Assembly of God. Services will be private.

Alfred was my wonderful stepfather. I was very fortunate to have him in my life. He will be greatly missed. Attached is one of my favorite Alfred photos. Nobody could rock those glasses like Alfred!

My grandfather was a charismatic man. He only wanted the best for everyone. Cookies were an acceptable lunch. Tending to his garden was paramount to him. He would use his wheelchair and water, plant, weed, and various other things. Reading his Bible was something he did everyday. He is and will be missed more than words can express.

My grandfather was a very charismatic man. He would tell me stories of the past, confide in me. Nothing can fill the emptiness. He loved treats and sweets. He never pronounced my name right, and I would give anything to hear him say my name in greeting. My grandfather will be missed very much.
