Beverly Jo Cochran

1937 - 2017

Beverly Jo (Williams) Cochran 80, of Imperial, CA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 28, 2017. Beverly was born on April 15, 1937 in Calexico, CA to the late Roy and Ellen (Cheney) Williams. She was born in her grandfather Williams back bedroom. Beverly Jo was the first of six children. Beverly attended Imperial High School. She later met her lifelong partner, Phillip Cochran, Sr, and were married on October 19, 1956. Together they had four children. As her children got older, she made the decision to go back to school and attended classes at Imperial Valley College to study special education and sign language. She used these skills when working with special education children at the Imperial Valley Center for Exceptional Children (IVCEC) in El Centro where she later retired after 25 years. She loved attending family gatherings, working on her family ancestry, caring for her cats, Tommy and Cali, and she enjoyed sitting in her cactus garden. She was a generous and kind woman who was so full of life, full of mischief and full of love for her family and friends. There are no words to express how much she will be missed. She affected everyone she met. Beverly is survived by her siblings; Wanda Logsdon of Pomona, CA, Dixie Williams of Jasper, AR, Darrel Williams of Yuma, AZ, Jimmie Williams of Tucson, AZ, and Janice Romero of Yuma, AZ; her four children, Steven (and his wife, Teana) of Imperial, CA; Phillip Jr.(and his wife, Chris) of Las Vegas, NV; Deanna of San Diego, CA; and Mark (and wife, Malena) of El Centro, CA; her nine grandchildren, Tina, Lindsay, Scott, Brett, Bradley, Erin, Jordan, Lance, Sean; her five great-grandchildren Junior, Bruce, Sada, Aubrey and Adelynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Cochran, Sr in 2014. Private Family Services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 9:00am at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following. Reception to be held at at Cheval Farm, 346 Larsen Rd., Imperial, CA 92251.
