BRIAN LIGGETT Obituary
Aug. 18, 1951 – Feb. 3, 2025
Brian K. Liggett Sr. age 73, of El Centro passed away peacefully in his home on February 3, 2025.
Brian was born in St. Joseph, Michigan on August 18, 1951, to Robert and Doris Liggett. He attended schools in South Bend, Indiana, and El Centro, CA, graduating from Central Union High School in 1969. He received his A.A. degree from IVC, where he met his future wife of 42 years, Christina Cosio. He received his B.A. degree in art from San Diego State University in 1974. Brian and Christina were married in 1975 and they had 3 children, 2 of whom survived. Brian worked for many years in the Valley, mainly at General Dynamics Land Systems as a buyer, and retired from the I.I.D. in 2016.
Growing up in South Bend, Indiana, Brian was a lifetime Notre Dame football supporter. He also enjoyed Blue Angels winter training and air shows. He was an artist and saw beauty in everything.
Brian was preceded in death by his loving wife, Christina Liggett; son, Stephen Michael Liggett; parents, Bob and Doris Liggett; and brothers, Scott, Gary and Jeff Liggett.
Brian is survived by his son, Brian Liggett Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Liggett from El Centro; sister, Claudia Hook of Estes Park, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on March 13, 2025, at Hems Mortuary in El Centro from 6-9 p.m. Graveside services will be held March 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
The family requests that donations be made to Dees Rescue in El Centro or the Humane Society of Imperial County.

My condolences to Liggett family. Brian was my friend during my college days at Imperial Valley College. We were art majors. He was an incredible watercolor artist. I had a lot of fun with him during those days. He was very caring and had a great sense of humor. I invited him and his parents to my sister's quicenera. We lost contact when l moved to San Diego for a teaching job. I was saddened to hear of Chris's passing. May he rest in peace He's with his beloved.

Sending love to Brian´s family as they transition through this difficult time. Brian was a light and brought so much joy to those around him. Growing up seeing him and Chris was a reminder of what true love should look like. Sending my thoughts and prayers to teacher Chris and his family.

We learned today of Brian's passing. The sad news came thru the company communication department. We worked together at the Land Systems Plant located in Imperial, he was always diligent, focused on his family and his job, sorry to learn of Chris passing, she was a lovely lady. Every time we think of Brian, we picture him and Brian Jr. eating lunch at his desk, always friendly, his reaction to some other coworker's stories, comments or handiwork were priceless. We are extending our condolences to his family on behalf of the IVO Team and will be donating in Brian's name to the Humane Society of Imperial County as it was his wish.
