Charlie Grijalva, 29, of Brawley passed away Sunday, December 21.
He was born May 8, 1985 in Calexico and was married to Gloria M. Noriega on March 3, 2011 in Yuma, AZ. Charlie served in the U.S. Army for a little over 9 years, he was attending University of Phoenix for a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, He was also responsible for creating the Imperial Valley Pay It Forward Organization and was also a devoted Oakland Raiders Fan.
Visitation for Charlie will be held Monday, December 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley with rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass will commence at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 30 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley. Charlie will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery immediately following Mass.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Armando Grijalva.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Gloria Grijalva; daughter, Jocelyn Mendez, son, Noah Grijalva, and a baby on the way; parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Grijalva; in-laws, Eulalia and Carlos Terriquez; sister and brother-in-law, Lizette Grijalva Hendry and Cameron Hendry; sister, Megan Fitch; bro-in-law and wife, Fernando and Lorena Noriega; paternal grandmother, Estella Grijalva; maternal grandparents, Leon and Micaela Armenta; several nieces and nephews. Family suggest memorial to: Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.

I'm glad I got to meet you brother at University of Phoenix. Eventhough I just got to know you for a quite short period of time I've always felt the opposite. It was nice attending UOPX in San Diego with you. Take it easy up there brother and we will meet again.
