CHARLES SEITZ Obituary

CHARLES F. SEITZ

Oct. 15, 1952 – Sept. 7, 2024

Charles F. Seitz was born on October 15, 1952, in Calexico, CA, to parents Charles and Mable Seitz. Raised in the border town, he graduated from Calexico High School in 1970. Chuck played football as a Bulldog and participated in the band as a drummer. Chuck attended IVC and then received a Mortuary Science Degree in Los Angeles and returned to Imperial Valley to work for Hems Bros Mortuary for several years. Chuck had a brief stint working for OK Corral Feedyard, then worked as a tractor salesman at Bates & Osborn Inc. for 9 years. In 1987, Chuck began a 37 year career working for Bolthouse Farms. He loved working in the carrot industry alongside the greatest growers, and he took pride working with the Bolthouse team.

In 1984, Chuck married the former Mary Brandenberg, and together they raised sons, Will and Wade. Chuck was a wonderful family man and had a deep love for his wife and sons, as well as extended family. Chuck was a baseball fan and visited all 30 MLB Ballparks along with his family. He was a Yankees fan at heart but loved his Padres as well. Chuck enjoyed driving his Jeep along a bumpy desert road with his dog Ringo.

Chuck was a strong Christian and loved his church family at Valley Christian Church, where he served as elder and was usually found helping Mary in the kitchen.

In 2020, Chuck was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He fought each battle fiercely, knowing that God was the source of his strength. His strength touched the lives of many people. The Lord rescued Chuck from the final battle on September 7, 2024. He will be missed immensely until we meet again.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles Seitz; mother, Mable Seitz; and brother, Wade Seitz.

Chuck is survived by wife, Mary Seitz; sons, Will Seitz and Wade Seitz; and sister, Lawanda Magness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Valley Christian Church on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Valley Christian Church earmarked for Fundacion Emmanuel Orphanage in Mexicali, one of Chuck's great concerns.

I met Chuck at IVC, you just couldn't help but like him. His seemingly unending smile and good nature was always there. I ran into and visited with him randomly at various places over the years in the Imperial Valley. He will be missed. RIP old friend.

Your Mother and Father welcomed us to Calexico when we came from Iowa in 1966. My husband Fred and I were married in 1968. He was a Bulldog who followed the games! Thought you were a talented and nice kid! May your family's faith and happy memories be a comfort as you come together.

My dear friend Chuck. Funny with a great sense of humor.
I remember when I was about to let him know his cousin Ed Martin was in the same Basic Training Company in the Army he said Ed hsd already made him aware. We had a good laugh over that and many more followed over the years. You will be terribly missed buddy.
