Cheryl Beyer passed away peacefully in her Heber home on August 30, 2021, of lung failure due to OCPD, at the age of 70.

Cheryl was born and raised in Calexico, CA. As a child Cheryl had many wonderful memories growing up. They usually involved shared traditions with her large immediate and extended family. Cheryl learned to play the piano and clarinet, with Bethoven's "MoonLight Sonata" being her most cherished. She truly loved every holiday celebration filled with family members near and far that would always gather together.

Cheryl graduated from Calexico High in 1969 and was a true Bulldog. Cheryl was very patriotic, and enjoyed her many travels across the United States. She always stood proudly, hand over her heart anytime the National Anthem was played, with tears in her eyes as she absorbed the words true meaning of being an American. She always recalled a special trip to NY with her parents and siblings, when her Dad took her up to the top of the Statue of Liberty, climbing up the winding staircase, where she had a breath taking view of NY and also the open sea. Many years later her husband Greg took not only her but also her two sons, Michael and James to watch Superbowl 48 live in NJ/NY where they had a blast! A couple days earlier, they all made the journey to ground zero (9/11) site to pay there respects to all those who were lost that day. It was very emotional for Cheryl, as her heart is so good and pure for everyone. Cheryl was a very loving and kind person. To those who had the privilege of knowing her or even just meeting her, felt that gentleness that was genuinely offered no matter who you were. Cheryl had many special interests or loves that described her, always. Butterflies is a huge one. Everything butterflies! She had them everywhere in all shapes and forms! Tied with that is her devotion and passion to her beloved Los Angeles Rams! If you ever were near her on gameday, you will especially remember one was Cheryl yelling at the TV, "Go, Go, Go, Go!" and "Get 'em!, "Get 'em!" The Rams were her "other boys", whom she would cheer on and scream out, "Those are my boys! Always and Forever, it's, "Go Rams!!!"

Cheryl was easy to shop for on birthdays, Mother's Day, and Christmas... anything Rams or butterflies, and you were covered.

Lastly, to all of you that worked with her over her lifetime, Beckman, Bicomp, General Dinamics or Imperial County Properties, know that she never forgot about any of you! As it's certain that all of you will never forget her.

Visitation for Cheryl will be held Thursday, September 17 at 6 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico. Graveside service, officiated by Pastor Giebenaw, will commence at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 18 at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Zabala; father, Edward G. Knechel; and mother, Marie A. Knechel.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Beyer of Heber, CA; loving daughter, Amy J. Zink of Cathedral City, CA; loving sons, Ernest M. Zabala of Imperial Valley, CA and James E. Bynum of El Centro, CA; 4 sisters, 1 brother, 5 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and well as numerous nieces, nephews, and tons of friends from all over.
