DAISY JOANNE LARSEN
July 2, 1934 - Apr. 13, 2011
It is with great sorrow we are informing you of the passing of Mrs. Daisy Joanne Larsen. Joanne passed away peacefully on April 13, 2011.
Joanne was born July 2, 1934, in San Diego, CA to Joseph and Marni Drew. Joanne was a Navy brat and attended many schools but graduated from Millington, Tennessee high school. Joanne met her husband Richard G. Larsen, A Navy serviceman at the NAF El Centro Naval Base. They were smitten and married on May 18, 1957. Joanne was a wonderful mother of three children, Joseph A. Larsen, Richard A. Larsen and Marnitta L. Pavao. Joanne was very active in her children's lives. As a 4-H leader she taught the art of sewing, cooking and cake decorating. She was also a licensed ceramic instructor. During her children's younger years, Joanne worked at the Seeley Elementary school so she could have the summers off with her children. Once her children were older she was employed for over 30 years with the United States Postal Service. Joanne looked forward each day to all the smiling faces and treasured all the wonderful people she had met over the years. One thing she spoke fondly of was her monthly luncheons that she and our father would attend with the great friends she had made while working for the Postal Service. Joanne was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. Joanne touched everyone she knew and will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Drew; mother, Marni Drew.
Daisy is survived by her husband, Richard G. Larsen of Seeley; sons, Joseph A. Larsen (Karen) of El Centro, CA, Richard A. Larsen (Vicki) of Cape Coral, FL; daughter, Marnitta L. Pavao (Gary) of El Centro, CA.
