DAVID CRITTENDON Obituary

DAVID PAUL

CRITTENDON

Feb. 28, 1938 – July 6, 2024

David Paul Crittendon, 86, also known to many as Mr. C, passed peacefully at home with family present on Saturday, July 6, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 28, 1938, in Holtville, CA, to Cecil and Ora Crittendon. David attended Pine School through 8th grade and graduated from Holtville High School in 1955. David married Patsy Phillips on June 14, 1965. They have three daughters. David was a member, Deacon, and song leader at 1st So. Baptist Church of Holtville (now Trinity Baptist Church) where he served for 57 years. He was a past member of Rotary Club of Holtville, served on the Holtville School Board for 12 years and served on the Board for Turning Point Men's Home for 25 years. He loved the Lord, his family, and the church family and had a servants spirit. He also loved to road trip and camp with their RV and was quite a joker.

David had a long career working in agriculture. First with InterHarvest as a grower and later for Wells Fargo as an Ag Appraiser until his retirement in 2000.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathryn Gramly. He is survived by his wife, Patsy, of whom he was married for 59 years; children, Lynne (John) Ming, Jennifer Crittendon, and Merritt (Vincent) Merten. He is also survived by his brother, Shelvie (Ann) Crittendon; sister, Peggy (Bill) Carrico; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Barbara Aspey; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The date for his Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Holtville, CA.

Our family wishes to thank our Hospice doctors, nurses, the Unicare caregivers, and the V.A. for the loving and compassionate care and support they gave Mr. C and our family. Special thanks to Turning Point for being on call and ready to help whenever needed.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you make a donation of your choosing to Turning Point Men's Home, Trinity Men's Restoration Home, or Grace & Truth Ministries.

Jennifer, I have fond memories of you and your parents from the mid 1970s when you joined the Imperial Valley Suns Track Club. Your mother and father were always so polite, humble and attentive. I´m thankful for having had the opportunity to know them and to coach you.
