David was born in El Centro, CA to William and Patricia Robinson on May 4, 1957. He attended McCabe Elementary and graduated from Central Union High School in 1975.

David was always athletic and enjoyed sports. He played basketball making Freshman All Tournament Team in High School. He began racing motorcycles at the age of 16, participating in races at Superstition Mountain and any desert that was having a race. Dave participated in adult league fast pitch soft ball leagues in both California and Arizona. He enjoyed being active.

David came from a family of farmers. His family grew everything from broccoli and lettuces in the winter to a variety of melons in the spring. In 1982, Dave went to work for Bonanza Packing, where they shipped produce all over the country. Dave worked for Bonanza Packing until 1991, when he started his own produce company in El Centro. He sold produce to grocery stores and restaurants and ran his business with great success until 2002 when he moved San Diego to raise is son Andrew, who was the center of his world. His arrival in San Diego led him to his position at Moceri where he thrived. With all of his experience in the farming industry from growing, packing, and shipping, he had a unique understanding of product quality and customer service. He worked for Moceri Produce from March of 2008 until his death.

David enjoyed the beach and loved spending time in Mexico where he planned to someday retire. He had a charming personality and made friends wherever he went. Not only did he meet Dallas Cowboy Hall of Famer Randy White, but they became great friends and met in Ensenada several times a year with Dallas Cowboy standout Don Smerek. Even though David was a diehard Cowboy's fan, Randy and Don were always Team David. They were devoted friends who were by David's side. They meant the world to him.

David is preceded in death by his parents, William (Bob) Robinson and Patricia Robinson.

David is survived by his son, Andrew Robinson (Brianan Saenz); brothers, Robbie (Nikki) Robinson, Danny (Xochitl) Robinson; nieces and nephews, Ty (Michael) Goodspeed, Cheyenne (Carlos) Villarino, Cody (Barbara) Robinson, Ali Robinson (Ty Lerche), Shane (Avery) Robinson, Andrea Robinson. He leaves behind countless cousins, lifelong friends, and extended family.

David will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and good times.

Services will be on February 19, 2022 at Christ Community Church at 10 a.m.
