ERNESTO COLLINS

Ernesto Collins, 87, of Heber passed away of a congestive Heart Failure Thursday, May 18, at El Centro Regional Medical Center.
Ernesto was born May 23, 1918 in Miraflores, B.C. He married Lola Collins in Mexicali. Ernesto arrived from Cabo San Lucas area in 1945. He worked his life as a farmer for Brock Ranches since September 1947.
Visitation will be Monday, May 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Chapel in Calexico. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Mass will be officiated by Father Jaime Escobedo Tuesday, May 23, at Sacred Heart Church in Heber commencing at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
Ernesto was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Collins Acevedo and Rita Collins Villa; daughter, Alma Rita Collins and great-grandchild, Aiyana McDonough .
Ernesto is survived by his daughters, Martha Jacobo of Heber, Elvia Collins Hernandez of Torrance, CA., Elodia Collins Gonzalez of Glendale, CA., Blanca Collins Preciado of El Centro and Lorena Collins Izquierdo of Los Cabos; sons, Jesus Jacobo of El Centro, Juan Jacobo of Mexicali, Ruben Jacobo of El Centro and Jose E.
