Fernando Rivas, of El Centro, was born on December 13, 1932 in Calexico, CA and passed away of natural causes on April 21, 2022 at the age of 89.
Fernando was a CHS valedictorian, in varsity football for 4 years, a National Guardsman, owner of Electric Motor Co., Pastor and church planter. He reached and helped thousands of addicts and their families.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Victoria Rivas; and his sisters, Imelda Rivas and Maria Tamayo.
Fernando is survived by hiswife, Ofelia Rivas; sons, Fernando Rivas Jr and Jose Rivas; daughters, Victoria Pompa and Ofelia Lopez; his 20 grandkids, 18 great grandkids and 2 great great grandkids. He is also survived by his brother in laws, sister in laws, and nieces and nephews.
Services and visitation will be held at Hem's Brothers Mortuary on May 19, 2022 at 6p.m and will be officiated by Fernando Rivas Jr. Burial will follow on May 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro, CA.

My sincere condolences to Mrs Rivas and the whole Rivas family. Fernando was a tireless worker for God whose mission was to save souls. And he certainly succeeded. Starting with Victory Outreach and then starting Imperial Valley Ministries. We all know where he is. Gods word says to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. Well done faithful Servant. God grant him eternal rest.
