GENOVEVA S. SINGH

Genoveva S. Singh, mother and grandmother passed away on Thursday, October 4 at the age of 83, after a lengthy illness at Pioneers Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Singh was born in Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico and was the oldest daughter of 7 children. She moved to Mexicali, B.C., Mexico in 1958. She late emigrated to the United States in 1960, bringing along her 3 children, Grace, Joe and Ramiro and later marrying Herman Singh, a local farmer in El Centro.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and as a homemaker she excelled in cooking Mexican and Hindu food. She loved her red roses and plants in her garden and was always there to help neighbors in need. Mrs. Singh loved to travel to San Diego, Los Angeles, India, Rosarito, Ensenada, Tecate, and shopping in Mexicali.
Viewing will be held Thursday, October 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel in Brawley. Cremation will follow.
Mass will commence at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 12 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Singh; brothers, Isabel and Luis Sanchez; son, Joe Garcia and grandson, Juan M. Lopez.
Genoveva is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Graciela and Virgil Salcedo of Glendale, AZ; son, Ramiro Garcia of El Centro; brothers and sisters, Leopoldo Sanchez of Brawley, Ramon Sanchez of Mexicali, Roberto and Amparo Sanchez, both of Ameca, Jalisco and Anna Sandhu of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Alyra and Albert Cibrian, Stephanie Garcia, Michael and Ana Garcia, Herman and Idali Garcia and Mathew Garcia, all of El Centro, Trina Lopez, Manuel Lopez and Jose C. Lopez, all of Glendale, AZ; great-grandchildren, Adrian and Alec Cibrian and Briannah Garcia, all of El Centro, Stephanie Lopez of Fresno, CA, Robert, Marcus, Danny and Sabrina Torres, Cruz Angel, Manuel Jr. and Sergio Lopez, all of Glendale, AZ, Belinda and Sasha Garcia of San Diego; nephews, Jose Luis, Miguel and Guillermo Sanchez of North Carolina.
