GEORGE ALLEN REED
1927 - 2010
George Reed, 82, of Gilbert, AZ passed away on January 3, 2010, after a long illness. He was born in Morrilton, AR to Ottis and Tennie Reed. He grew up in Ajo, Arizona until he graduated high school and joined the Navy in 1945. George is a former long time resident of Imperial Valley. George was active in the Imperial Lion Club. He retired from Waddell Engineering and enjoyed golfing with friends.
George is survived by his wife, Carol Bevins of Gilbert, AZ; son Gary (Wendy) Reed, of Nevada; stepson, Wesley (Caren) Bevins, of Texas; daughters Kristi Reed, of Nevada, Terri (Mark) Shea, of California and Kelli Reed, of Phoenix, AZ; stepdaughters, Melinda (Greg) Gapen, of Gilbert, AZ and Carrie Mason, of California; 8 grandchildren, 3 step- grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchil- dren.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper Ave., Gilbert, AZ. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, Arizona 85024. Carol and Family,
We were so very sorry to hear of George's passing. He was such a great and talented guy with a wicked sense of humor enjoyed by all who knew him. We will always be grateful to him for drawing the plans for our home in Imperial so many years ago. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
