GRACE GINNIS Obituary


On December 3, 1940 in Roscoe, California Grace was born to Howard and Jewell Storrs. She left this world to be with the Lord and her husband Mike Dean Ginnis on September 22, 2020. Grace was committed to family and friends always with love and support. Grace enjoyed her family, reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, cooking (jams, jelly, pies and deviled eggs) and served on the election board for many years. Grace worked at Millers Cafe with her sister Holly. She also worked at Courtesy Coffee and then at Johnny's Liquor. Grace was always involved in her children's activities in school. She was also involved with the Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and 4-H. Grace was preceded in death by husband, Mike D. Ginnis; mother, Jewell Storrs Miller; father, Howard A Storrs; stepdad, Carl F. Miller; brother, Frank Storrs and sister, Holly Storrs Fisher. She is survived by son Michael H. (Dee) Ginnis of Imperial; daughters Anita Miller and Barbara (Oscar) Rios of Westmorland; grandsons Cory (Crystal) Hemphill of Yuma, Michael D. (Francine) Ginnis of Westmorland, Joe Miller V of Needles, Izak Ginnis of Imperial; numerous nieces and nephews; also numerous great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren and ex-daughter-in-law Donna Ginnis of Imperial; siblings Katy Russell of Brawley, Howard (Ellen) Storrs of Mexico, Vickey (Richard) Windsor of Westmorland, Doni (John) Soukup of Yuma. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

My sincerest condolences to you on the loss of your mother, Grace. She and I volunteered together with the American Red Cross Disaster Services for a number of years in the 1980s and '90s. She was always willing to help and I know you were very proud of her. Thank you for sharing her with me.
