GUADALUPE CALDERON

May 4, 1931 Oct. 18, 2021

Guadalupe Calderon of Calexico passed away on October 18, 2021.

She was born May 4, 1931 in Nogales, Sonora and was married to Jess Calderon for 69 years.

Guadalupe was a devoted housewife, loving mother to 7 children, grandmother to 21 grandkids and great-grandmother to 28 great-grandkids. She enjoyed having her family over on weekends for carne asada dinners, and family weekend getaways to Ensenada, San Felipe and Rosarito. But she greatly enjoyed her daughters, daughter-in-laws, sons, and sons-in-laws all together making tamales for Christmas, she loved to see her family work together. This was her Christmas tradition, a tradition that our family will carry on for her. Aside from being remembered as Nana, she will be remembered as Mama, mi Viejita. Even though you may not be with us, know that we hold you in our hearts and you will always be with us.

Guadalupe is survived by husband, Jess; children, Julie (Felix) Mejia; Mary (Salvador) Curiel; Sandra Beltran; Jesse (Yolanda) Calderon; Helen (Ramon) Gurule; Marcos (Maria) Calderon and David (Carol) Calderon.

Viewing will be held on December 10, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Hems Mortuary in Calexico. Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery.
