HENRY TORRES Obituary
Henry Torres, 83, of Holtville, CA. passed away of natural causes on Monday, January 4, 2016. Henry was born on March 12, 1932 in Coolidge, Arizona to Carlos and Hortencia Torres. He married Florence Mejia on July 5, 1952. He was drafted by the U.S. Army and was stationed in Greenland during the Korean War. Upon returning from his tour, he worked at Tamarack Ranch, Brock Ranches and Imperial Cotton Products. In 1975 Henry retired and began his own landscaping business. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Hortencia Torres; wife, Florence (Mejia) Torres; brothers, Eduardo Moiza and Leonardo Torres and sisters, Ramona and Alicia. Henry is survived by his son Charlie Torres (Gloria); daughter, Carol Rascon (Manuel); son, Joe Aguirre; grandchildren, Monica Imperial (Luis), Carlos Torres (Leticia), Enrique Torres (Denise), Erik and Gregory Rascon, Fernando (Elizabeth), Orlando (Lillian), and Veronica Aguirre; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 6 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro, Service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 9 a.m. with Father Jose Alfredo Moreno officiating at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Holtville, CA. A military burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico, CA.

My condolences to my cousins charlie and carol and family,I remember my Tio Henry he always liked to go fishing and hunting, we used to visit him when he worked at Brock ranch.we would always see him when he came to visit my Nana Hortensia his mom in our home in Heber they sat outside and drank coffee and Nana would cook food, those were the good days.He was always joking around and made us laugh and when he came back from hunting he would bring us some deer meat,such a giving man.I had not seen him lately but he was always in my heart he looks so much like my dad his brother Leonardo Silva Torres who he is with now in heaven.rest in peace Tio Henry.

Tata Henry, You were always such a gentlemen! Your wit and sense of humor was uplifting at all times...never a dull moment, that's for sure. Although it had been a while since I saw you last, the memories I hold of you are fond and dear...time to give those in Heaven the jokes and stories!
