JONATHAN BYRD Obituary
Jonathan Richard Byrd passed away in Portland, Oregon on August 21, 2017. Born on January 16, 1960 and raised in Brawley, California, Jon lived the majority of his adult life in Eugene, Oregon where he worked in the wholesale floral industry and raised his three children, Rachael, Justin, and Aaron. Jon is preceded in death by his parents William and Gail Byrd and his older brother Scott Byrd of Brawley. He is survived by his two sisters, Melinda Byrd and Lisa Byrd Adajian of Portland, Oregon and his three children, Rachael Byrd, Justin Byrd, and Aaron Byrd, and grandson Quinn Byrd all of Juneau, Alaska. A memorial service will be held at the Riverview Cemetery in Brawley on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. Jon will be remembered for his energetic, cheerful, curious, friendly, and loving nature. The family is especially thankful for the loving and attentive care Jon provided for his father William Byrd during the last few years of William's life in Portland, Oregon.

Jon was my friend in high school, he ha made a life change in deciding to follow Christ. I thought it foolish. He repeaditly told me of Gods love. In a dark point I remembered what he had shared and I too investigated who Christ was and also turned my life around. Thank you friend, I will see you on the other side!

Jonathan spent some time as a friend to my son Darrin Freeman. He was a pleasant visitor in my home. I was the Scoutmaster of Troop 22, when Jon became an Eagle Scout. Haven't seen him in many years, but I miss him already.

So sad to hear the news of Jon's passing. Dee and I were remembering him as so much fun and she just ran across a picture of Jon camping with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you...
