In loving memory of Josie of Calexico who passed away of natural causes on Friday, February 7, 2014 surrounded by her children at her home.
Josie was born to Joseph Marron and Erminia Ortega July 5, 1913 in San Diego, CA. She attended school in Campo, CA and went to business school in San Diego. She started working at the family general store in Tecate, CA. During WWII she worked at Rhor Aircraft as a riveter, commonly known as "Rosie the Rivetter" while raising her family. She moved to the Imperial Valley in the early 50's she worked retail stores in Calexico. She started working as a bookkeeper for Twin City Feed and Seed, and became owner of the business until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the Calexico Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist Club. After retirement she moved to Tecate, CA. There she had the opportunity to do the things she loved to do, gardening , sewing, knitting and cooking for her family that visited her at the ranch.
In the early 1990's she moved back to Calexico to be near family and friends and continued to do the things that she loved. She also enjoyed playing cards and table games with her friends and casino night with the girls (daughters and granddaughters).
Josie is preceded in death by her sons, Eduardo, Adolfo, Armando and Rodolfo (infant son).
She is survived by her sister, Eula Velez of Spring Valley, CA; her children, Alicia Mendoza, Ana Maria Bribiesca and Jose "Pica" Cuellar (Aida) of Calexico, CA, Yolanda Ruiz (Pepe) of Heber, CA and Maria Orozco (Antonio) of San Diego, CA; plus 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m. and with rosary at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico. Mass will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 9 a.m., officiated by Father Miguel at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico. Burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.

My condolences to the Cuellar family. As a child I always enjoyed my parents going by to see Mrs. Cuellar. She lived an Awesome life and was a great lady. I know that she is in God's Kingdom and looking over everyone she knew. God Bless you all. Chalo
