Mr. Kevin Dennis McFadden of El Centro, CA was called back into the presence of his Lord, by the grace of the Spirit, on March 7, 2016. The beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend was 39 years old. Kevin is survived and remembered by his wife and best friend, Sara McFadden, and his loving children, Nathan, Kyra, and Kaden. As well as his father and mother, Dilda and Winn McFadden of El Centro, and his brother Dion and sister Wendy. Kevin was born in El Centro on August 12, 1976 to Dilda and Winn, and from an early age began to make his mark on the town, establishing lifelong friendships from all areas of the community. A career built on his work with young people was punctuated by standout moments as a football coach with Mid Valley PW football and Basketball Coach at Southwest High School, Imperial Valley College and Central Union High School, including a treasured CIF championship victory with the CUHS Women's Basketball team in 2014. "I haven't been perfect, but I've sure been faithful" were words Kevin built his life around. Kevin will be remembered fondly by his friends for his sense of humor and his strong loyalty to everyone in his life; for his quick wit and his ability to turn a moment in passing into a moment to cherish. He will be remembered by the generation of students he touched and changed for the way he could not just listen to, but hear them; for the way he put them at ease and let them know how much they really mattered. Kevin's life will be celebrated by friends and family this Sunday, March 20, at 1 p.m. in the Jimmie Cannon Theater at Southwest High School in El Centro; followed by a gathering at the Old Eucalyptus Schoolhouse. The family has established the McFadden Memorial fund at Sun Community FCU in his memory, as a part of carrying forward his love of sport and love for his children.

Kevin, I'm sorry to hear about your passing. My heart breaks for your wife, your children and your family. Our paths crossed while at UCSD back in the Fall of 1998. We were both Political Science majors. Any time the professor called on you, you were ready with such an articulate and well thought out answer. You were smart!
