KIRK SCHMIDT Obituary
Kirk Alan Schmidt passed on Saturday September 10, 2018 due to Heart Failure. He had just celebrated his 59th birthday. Kirk had worked for 20 years in the Produce Maintenance field until health issues slowed him down. He was born September 1, 1959, in Fremont, California. The family moved to the Imperial Valley in 1969. He attended Brawley schools and graduated from Brawley Union High School. Kirk was preceded by his father, Myron "Mike" and mother, Joanne Schmidt. He leaves behind: son, Spencer Schmidt; sister, Pamela Hodgson of Salem, Oregon; brother and wife: Greg and Natalie Schmidt of Brawley, California; nephews, Jeremy, Justin and Jordan Schmidt; grand niece, Jayden Schmidt; nephew, Jordan "Jay" and Nallely Greenwood; grand nephews and niece, Jett, Emma, Kyle and Evan, all of Brawley; nephew, Nash Greenwood and Fiancee Nely Prado of San Bernardino, California. A Celebration of Life will be held for Kirk on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at 325 Webster Rd, Brawley, California. Please call 760-344-3863 if more information is needed.

I still can't believe it. We grew up in the same neighborhood he's like a brother. I'll never forget his smile. Friendly to all who walked with him. RIP my dear friend. Prayers for the family God Bless

So sorry to read of Kirk's passing. Thinking back so many years ago on Friday nights hanging out at the corner gas station while you were working watching everyone cruise main street and just shooting the breeze. Everyone stopped in to get a bit of gas and just chat to Kirk he was a well known friend to so many of us Brawley natives. Those were memorable times that always stuck with me. Never forget the mustang or Kirk. Blessings on you and your family. Sorry to hear of losing yet another friend from the past.
