Linda Hess Obituary

LINDA GAYLE LEBLANC HESS

Sept. 30, 1951 July 4, 2022

Linda Gayle Hess (LeBlanc), age 70, passed away July 4, 2022, at her home with her husband nearby. She was born September 30, 1951 in Abbeville, LA to A.B. (Abby) LeBlanc and Willie Mae Meaux LeBlanc. Her stepfather was Wally Fisch who helped her mother raise her after her father passed away in the early 1950's. Wally and Willy moved to El Centro, CA when Linda was about 3 or 4 years old. She grew up there and graduated from Central Union High School in 1969 before studying nursing. Tim and Linda graduated High school together. Our folks were good friends, living as neighbors, camping, fishing, and roaming the desert. They were like brother and sister at that time but the miracle of their love came 50 years later. Throughout her adult life, Linda lived in Long Beach, San Diego, Idaho, Hawaii, Nevada, North Carolina, Georgia, and New Mexico.

Linda raised 3 children on her own while working mostly in the Dental and Medical fields. She did additional odd jobs to help pay for her children's sports and other various activities. In her later years she also enjoyed working in the Veterinary field -a perfect fit given her deep love for animals. Anyone who ever knew Linda knew that her true passion and greatest purpose in life was to provide for her family. She found the most joy in spending time with her kids and those she loved so dearly. She also enjoyed cooking Gumbo and other Cajun food, and would reminisce with stories about her Nanny and mother who taught her to cook.

To know Linda was to love Linda. She was fun, funny, smart, caring, and had the absolute biggest heart. She is already so dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda mentored scores of friends and coworkers. There are so many who loved her we can't mention.

Linda was of the Catholic Faith and is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cloris (CJ); and sister Jocelyn LeBlanc.

She is survived by her husband, Timothy Hess; sons, Anthony McCauley (Alis) and Jay Butler; daughter, Renee Betancourt (Brandon); sister-in-law, Cheryl Drinnon Leblanc; grandsons, Tristan, Ethan, and Ayden; and granddaughter, Quinn.

A Requiem Mass and memorial will be held in Elko, NV mid to late September.

Revelation 21:4 and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Catholic Charities in Linda's memory.

I remember meeting Linda for the first time at a dentist office, then as years passed, we would have the pleasure of our kids being in high school at the same time and playing sports together. Of course there were also visits to the ER for many different reasons with kids and family. I loved her smile. She will be greatly missed.

Linda was always the sunshine in my day. Her smile and later her messages always lifted my spirits. You are so missed my dear friend.

Linda was super smart, intuitive, wise and so funny. The start of our friendship began at the NNRH Christmas Dinner. Originally, I didn´t want to go, but I went anyway. I saw people that I knew, but they didn´t invite me to sit with them. I almost left, then I saw Linda and her daughter. Linda said "Come sit with us!" So I did and we had a great time and were friends ever since. At the party, I didn´t want to put my ticket in the drawing bucket and Linda insisted that I put it in. Shockingly, I won the drawing and it was a cruise to the Mexican Riviera for two!! So, I invited Linda to go. We had a blast ! Thank you Linda for being my fun friend. You were always so kind and a true Christian. She loved Jesus. I don´t like good byes. So I will only say that I will see you again my amazing friend and that you were beautiful inside and out.
