Maria Justa Mendoza Hernandez "Tita", 88, of Heber, CA, passed away on March 10, 2023, from acute chronic CHF with hypoxia at P.M.H in Brawley, CA. She was born on February 16, 1935, in San Fernando, CA, and was married to Manuel Gonzalez Hernandez on August 15, 1956, in Yuma, AZ.

She was a caregiver, field worker, seamstress, caterer, housekeeper, babysitter, and a cook. She received her GED as an adult. She and her late husband raised their 7 children and assisted in childrearing their grandchildren as needed. She loved her family and friends deeply and always went out of her way to give a helping hand to those in need.

She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 6 sisters. She is survived by 2 brothers, Jesus and Raymumdo Mendoza, from Calexico, CA; 3 sisters- in-law, Dora, Norma, and Ana Rosa Mendoza; 7 children and their spouses: Jose "Coco" and Dora Hernandez, Gerardo and Beatriz Hernandez, Gilberto and Hilda Hernandez, Maria Genoveva and Harry Preciado, Adriana Alfaro, Lilia and James Rogers, and Nora Gonzales; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on April 21, 2023, at 9 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Harry Preciado at Hems Mortuary. Burial will be conducted at a later date for immediate family only, as she will be cremated.
