Mary Frances Alexander, our beloved Nanny Mary, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, at 86. A woman of deep love, creativity, and unwavering generosity, Mary devoted her life to her family and friends.
Born on August 29, 1938, in Brawley, Ca., to Turner Head and Alline Luft, Mary lived a life centered on bringing people together. Her creativity and passion for making others feel special were most evident during the holiday season, her favorite time of year. Every Christmas Eve, Mary opened her home to family and friends, filling it with joy and the warmth of her hospitality. Her home became a cherished gathering place where lasting memories were made.
Mary's legacy of love continues through her family: her daughter, Diedre McKinley (Mike); her grandchildren, Ryan Ray, Adrian Eddins (Brian), Karly Yates (Joey), Alyssa McKinley (Shawn), and Trace Ray; and her great-grandchildren, Jaxon Ray, Hayden Ray, Jay McKinley, Cole Eddins, Ashton Eddins, Kennedy Yates, Hudson Yates, Luke Whittle, Brody Ray, and Kehlani Ray. Her family was her most significant source of pride and happiness.
Mary Frances was reunited in death by her beloved husband, Billy Rae Alexander; father, Turner Head; mother, Alline Luf; son, Michael Alexander; daughter, Victoria (Vicky) Ray; son-in-law, Ronald (Ronnie) Ray; and grandson, Preston Ray.
Graveside services are scheduled for December 20, 2024, at noon at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley. Following the service, friends are invited to join Mary's family at Del Rio Country Club in Brawley from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. to honor her memory, where a selection of hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Mary Frances will forever be remembered for her open heart, love for Christmas, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her traditions, joy, and love will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have shared in her life.
