MARY EVA HINOJOSA GRANILLO

Mary Eva Hinojosa Granillo, 87, of San Diego passed away on Monday, December 5, 2005.
Mary was born December 24, 1918 in Balmorhea, TX to Lauro Hinojosa and Maria Paredes Hinojosa. Her family traveled in a horse drawn wagon from Texas to the Jasper area in Holtville in 1919.
Mary was the youngest of nine children, as well as the last survivor of all her brothers and sisters. She married Ely Granillo of Holtville and then moved to El Centro. Together they had three children.
Mary moved to San Diego where she managed apartments and raised her children. She remained in San Diego until she became ill with Alzheimer's disease and lived out the remainder of her life in a nursing home in Santa Ana, CA.
Memorial services will be on Wednesday, December 14 at the First Christian Church, 450 S Waterman in El Centro at 7 p.m.
Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Rebecca Kubler, Helen Yturralde, Sarah Higuera, Irene Swing, Elizabeth Zimmerman and Christine Hinojosa; brothers, Larry Hinojosa and Alfred Hinojosa.
Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Eli and Jo Granillo of El Centro, Frank and Jackie Granillo of Santa Ana; daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Jack Dimmitt of Mineral, WA; nine grandchildren, Eli Granillo III, of Palm Desert, Deborah Granillo of Desert Hot Springs, Icy Bermudez and Dawn Granillo of El Centro, Michelle Gonzalez of Murrieta, Frank Granillo Jr. of Santa Ana, Vicki Hayden and Jack Dimmit Jr. of Mineral WA, and Lisa Hernandez of Temecula; fourteen great-grandchildren, Lawrence, Desiree and Eli Granillo IV of Palm Desert, Hayden and Alyssa Hammond of Desert Hot Springs, CJ and Brooklyn Bermudez of El Centro, Brittnay Collins and Braden Gonzalez of Murrieta, Ashley, Andy and Adam Hayden of Mineral, WA and Anthony and Alyssa Hernandez of Temecula and numerous nieces and nephews.
