MIGUEL JARAMILLO Obituary
Miguel Jaramillo Sr. of Brawley passed away on June 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Andy; wife, Esther; sons, Richard and Arthur. Miguel is survived by his children, Mike, Ruben, Esther, Rose Marie, Albert and Paul; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike a Navy veteran, moved from the Salinas area and married Esther from Calexico on May 2, 1953. They were married for 54 years and raised their family in Brawley. He was an avid sports fan and a fixture at Brawley High football games. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who worked very hard to support his family as a Brawley Fireman and in produce sheds on his "vacation". Mike absolutely loved people throughout the Valley. Everywhere he went people knew him especially within the Brawley community where he had many friends since the mid-1950s. When an old man dies, a library burns down ". His wit, sense of humor, caring nature and opinions will be missed. Private services to be held on a later date.

I remember your father (Mike) As a big gentle giant, but Stern when necessary. He was a man of service and he truly cared for other people, Specially me. I remember one time during my graduation day he had told me not to come home late setting a cure curfew at 12 midnight so that I wouldn't worry my mother for being alone and if I was a minute late he would be outside Making sure that I got home in time and sure enough he was sitting outside on his front yard waiting there, can you imagine The fear that I had seeing him in front of his house as a drove by looking at him and him looking at me as I continued on driving just 2 doors down from his house hurrying to get into my house before he headed over to my front yard to give me a beat down ,which he never did for being 7 minutes late!! Talk about FEAR, but that was Mike's way of caring for me and my well being. I will never forget moment. My condolences to the entire Jarramillo for being awsome neighbors and dear friends. E

Condolences to the Jaramillo family. I have recollection of him from 1960s, when he worked in the produce shed by former IID office in Brawley, but most relevant was his service to Brawley as a fireman/ rescue person for many years. Thank for taking care of us Mike. God Bless You..RIP

Prayers to the Jaramillo family. I worked with Big Mike at the fire department in the 80's and I can honestly say that he was a good man through and through. I had so much respect and admiration for him. Rest in peace my brother.
